As I mentioned in my article “Top 10 Throwback Songs From The 90’s”, I realized that most of my absolute favorite throwback songs are actually from the early 2000’s. This was a time where I was forming real friendships, near my middle school years, based on music interests. I would lip-sync the songs to my reflection in my room, playing from my boom box on full blast. I would memorize the lyrics and choreography, then pretend to be one of the backup dancers from the artist’s music video. Oh, what fond memories those are…
When I now hear certain songs on the radio play from the 90’s or 00’s, they certainly trigger those feel-good nostalgic memories. And that is why I decided to come up with my list of top 25 throwback songs, specifically from the 00’s, that I still jam to on a regular basis. I am serious. The songs listed below are songs I still have memorized, I still dance to, and I still absolutely love. I can’t imagine how my life would be different without some of the songs from the early 00’s. They got me through angsty pre-teen moods and lifted me up during the good times.
I am listing these songs in chronological order from ’00 through ’06.
