Coming off their win in Match Day 1, FC Cincinnati went down to Florida for their first road test of the 2023 MLS Season, which resulted in a 0-0 draw against Orlando City SC.

While a draw on the road against a good team is typically viewed as a decent result, it’s hard not to understand the frustrations of fans. The attacking trio of Vazquez, Acosta, and Brenner are off to a slow start, failing to finish any of the many chances they had. The Orange and Blue just seemed unable to break down a rotated Orlando side that was content with sitting back most of the game.

On the bright side, the defense looked solid against Orlando’s typical offense, with Mosquera being particularly impressive. The match also saw the MLS debut of Marco Angulo, one of FC Cincinnati’s exciting off-season signings. The passing game in the midfield also saw an improvement over last week, one of the weak points of that match.

FC Cincinnati comes back home to TQL Stadium on Saturday to take on the in-form Seattle Sounders.
