FC Cincinnati (8-1-3) remains perfect at home after their 3-0 victory over CF Montreal (5-7-0) on Wednesday. FCC became just the fourth ever team in MLS history to win their first 7 home games of a season. The Orange and Blue are now on top of the Supporter’s Shield standings, 3 points ahead of the second place New England Revolution (7-2-3).

Cincinnati’s starting IX saw a little rotation from the usual MLS lineup. Ian Murphy started in Yerson Mosquera’s normal spot. Dominique Badji got his first MLS start of the campaign playing up top next to Brandon Vazquez. Sergio Santos was unavailable for the match due to an injury picked up in training. Alvas Powell again started at right wingback.

FCC was able to get ahead early thanks to an own goal from Montreal’s Joel Waterman in the 2nd minute off an Alvaro Barreal free kick. Luciano Acosta then doubled Cincinnati’s lead in the 26th minute, scoring his third goal of the season. Brandon Vazquez netted his third goal of the season in the 65th minute. Cincinnati had no trouble seeing out the game from there and goalkeeper Roman Celentano recorded his 6th clean sheet of the season, becoming the club’s leader in clean sheets in the MLS era.

FC Cincinnati looks to remain perfect at home as the Columbus Crew (5-4-3) come to town for the “Hell is Real” rivalry on Saturday. Kickoff is at 7:30pm and as always fans can catch the match on the MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.
