Iann Dior is a rapper with 9.8 Million monthly Spotify listeners who is known for his Emo Rap style. He has released 5 previous studio projects, 3 albums, and 2 EPs. On Friday, February 21st, he released his 3rd EP, Nothings Ever Good Enough II, a sequel to his first EP.

Today we dive in with a review of Nothings Ever Good Enough II song by song, and see if Iann Dior’s first project since 2023 is a hit or a flop.

Halo (feat. Lil Skies)- 6.5/10

Halo is a good song that features a catchy beat and is heavy with 808’s. Iann delivers a catchy yet lyrically shallow chorus, however makes up for it with his 2 verses. The feature by Lil Skies was lackluster. He doesn’t seem to match the beat with his own energy and delivers a cliche and rough verse. Iann flows really well on this beat and this track starts the EP off well despite the shaky feature and lyricism.

Not Fair- 8/10

Worth noting that the transition between Halo and Not Fair is majestic and very well done. The production on this one is on another level as the effects really add to the song. Iann once again flows really well on a bass and 808 heavy beat. His verses utilize a few different delivery styles making each part of the song stand out. The chorus is once again a weakness in the song however.

Foreva Love <3- 5/10

Once again, the transition between songs is incredible and it really sets a tone for this track. I like the message of on and off love in this song but the rest is quite underwhelming. This track has the weakest beat and verses so far in the EP.

Next 2 You (feat. DC The Don)- 6.5/10

So far, Next 2 You has the best chorus of the EP. The beat and flow by Iann leave a little to be desired but he makes up for it lyrically. DC The Don’s feature is definitely better than Lil Skie’s feature but it is short. I wish he had a little more time on this track to explore more of his catchy flow. This song has more of a club type vibe to it and is solid overall but nothing special.

The Facts- 8.5

The Facts starts heavy with 808’s and Iann goes straight into a fast verse. The stylistic changes of tempo make this song a special one to listen to. The production does a good job using Iann’s voice to match the energy of this track. My only real big gripe with this song is the length at only 1:47.

Good 4 It- 2.5/10

The heavy bass combined with a lot of 808’s distort Iann’s voice and whether or not it was on purpose, his voice is too quiet in this one. Lyrically, it’s very shallow and cliche. The chorus and verses blend together which makes nothing really stand out. By far the weakest track in the EP.

Different Lyfestyle- 3/10

Heavy bass takes over the song again in this one. The chorus is at least slightly redeeming but the verses are too short and the effects and ad libs are overdone. With only one song left, he needs to redeem the end of the EP after this two track slump.

All My Exes- 4/10

All My Exes is a very short song at just 1:26. It contrasts the rest of the album with its high tempo and harder delivery style. Iann flows well on it and spits nice lyrics but it doesn’t sound pleasing to the ears. The EP ended on a three song skid.

Overall, I think Iann could’ve put more effort and time into this project. After not having released a project since 2023, I expected a lot more than we got. There are a few good songs but he doesn’t fully tap into his known Emo Rap style often, and the end of the AP really taints the memory.

Final Rating: 5.5/10
