Cincinnati welcomed the Baylor Bears to Nippert Stadium for the first time Saturday, as a 4th comeback attempt came up short and the Bearcats would fall 32-29.

The Bearcats would never see a lead in the contest, but would hold the game close throughout. The largest lead held by Baylor would be by 15 points (5:00 to go in the 3rd Quarter).

Cincinnati would score late in the 4th Quarter, cutting the deficit to only three. After forcing Baylor to punt on the ensuing drive, Cincinnati would attempt to mount a comeback drive to at minimum tie. However the Bearcats would not be able to convert on 4th and 11, and Baylor would assume the victory formation to kneel the game away.

The Bearcats would out-rush the Bears by over 200 yards, with two running-backs totalling over 100 yards (Corey Kiner, 129 | Myles Montgomery, 103). Emory Jones would finish 19/30, with 162 passing yards, and two touchdowns, both thrown to Xzavier Henderson, who finished with 8 receptions for 82 yards.

The Bearcats are back in action this coming Saturday as they travel to Stillwater Oklahoma to take on the Oklahoma State Cowboys. Kickoff is at 8:00pm EST, and coverage will be available on ESPN2 and Cincinnati’s 102.7 WEBN.
