FC Cincinnati (20-5-8) got back to winning ways after their 1-0 win over Inter Miami CF (9-17-6) on Saturday.

FCC returned to their regular league starting XI for this match after heavy rotation on Wednesday.

Roman Celentano started in goal, with Ian Murphy, Matt Miazga, and Nick Hagglund making up the backline. Alvaro Barreal and Santiago Arias started at wingback.

The midfield consisted of Junior Moreno, Obinna Nwobodo, and Luciano Acosta. Sergio Santos and Brandon Vazquez started at striker.

The first half was largely uneventful, save for Nwobodo receiving a yellow card in the 27th minute.

Aaron Boupendza came on for Santos at halftime and Yuya Kubo came on for Moreno in the 65th minute.

It would take until the 78th minute for either side to break the stalemate. The only goal in the match came from Barreal as he slotted home the rebound from Kubo’s shot.

Soon after, in the 81st minute, Bret Halsey was subbed on for Barreal.

Then in the 84th minute, Roman Celentano received a yellow card as well.

In the 88th minute, Cincinnati made two more substitutions with Malik Pinto coming on for Lucho and Dominique Badji coming on for Vazquez to see out the game.

The 1-0 result got FCC back on the right track going into the playoffs as well as eliminated Miami from the playoffs.

FC Cincinnati is back at home for Decision Day when Atlanta United (13-9-11) will come to TQL Stadium for the second meeting between the clubs this year. The first meeting resulted in a 2-1 win for FCC in Atlanta back in August.

The match, the last one of the regular season, is at 6 p.m. on October 21 and, as always, fans can catch the match on the MLS Season Pass on Apple TV+.
