Top 3 Coffee Shops

By Lauren Williams · On April 10, 2019

If you’re as into coffee as I am, or if you’re as dependent on caffeine as myself, I have three cute, and local coffee shops to share near the UC area. Shops that are perfect for a quiet study space or somewhere that makes it easy for meetings or catching up with a friend.

First, The 86 is a new coffee nook on the corner University Ave near Jefferson Ave in Clifton. It has two floors with a lot of cozy seating and relaxing music. The 86 is one of the best places to study due to the student atmosphere and its proximity to campus. You have the option to sit by a fireplace, play a game of checkers, or sit near a window with a beautiful few of campus. Not only is the location great, but the fair trade coffee is to die for, whether it’s cold, warm, or an espresso drink. It is filled with knowledgable, kind workers who are excited to serve you! To top everything off, you’re given the option of a bottomless cup of their delicious coffee for only four dollars.

Next, Urbana is a cute little coffee shop located on Woodburn Ave off of McMillan. Urbana is a hidden gem with white marble tables, succulents, and stained glass windows. It is a bike-themed coffee shop that promotes communicating with those you come with, so they do not have wifi. If you’re looking for a cute place to go to with friends and not to study, Urbana is the place for you! Their business started by selling coffee from a small bike and now have two sit-down locations open in Cincinnati. They also offer mobile espresso and coffee in parks in Cincinnati. Overall, Urbana is an ethical, community-oriented business and provide good food, coffee, and comfort to their customers.

Lastly, The Bow Tie Cafe is a classy coffee shop and bar located in Mt. Adams. This coffee shop houses one of the best cappuccinos I have ever tasted! It is a great location surrounded by the views Mt. Adams has as well as the cute houses and architecture on that strip. Bow Tie Cafe is an amazing place to meet with someone, to study, or even to have morning breakfast. They have an extensive breakfast menu and it is delivered to your table. It is a fantastic place to study and socialize during the day, and an edgy, classy bar to get drinks in the evening.
